Beyond the Club Level

National Collegiate 4-H

At the national level, there is a National Action Board (NAB) composed of the four regional presidents, a secretary and business officer. This group is responsible for finances and national activities, and interacts with both the National 4-H Council and USDA.
Each year in the spring (Feb – Apr) there is a National Collegiate 4- H Conference. Hosting duties for this conference rotate among the four Regions, which select a host school from their members.
Each Collegiate 4-H club that pays national dues has two votes at the business meeting conducted at every National Collegiate 4-H Conference.
The national motto of Collegiate 4-H is "Sharing to Continue – Continuing to Share".

All NAB liaison positions are open to anyone who wishes to apply. These positions look great on a resume and can help you to build contacts on a national level and with members of the USDA.
Clubs that are involved in the national level of the organization have access to leadership and community involvement across the country as well as sharing ideas from other states, and making friends from around the country.

Regional Collegiate 4-H

The regions are broken down into: North-Central, North-Eastern, Southern, and Western regions.
At the regional level, the officers include a president, business officer and secretary that oversee regional activities and finances. These positions are open to anyone who wishes to apply.

How do I get involved on the National Level?

There are many opportunities available to Collegiate 4-H members who want to be active on a national level within the organization.

NAB
NAB member are the most active members of the organization. To become a NAB member, one must successfully run for the regional President’s position within their region.

Advocacy Team
The Advocacy Team is a committee within NAB that produces the national documents members can access to promote their club. They are also in charge of creating the national newsletter and keeping the national body informed.

Web Team
The Web Team helps to maintain and update the website. They are an important part of the national organization and work very closely with the advocacy team.

Ag Consortium Liaison
The Ag Consortium liaison is an important member of the national team. This person attends conference related to our partner in CLK (needs more but I don’t know it.) This person is selected by interview at the National Collegiate 4-H Conference.

Business Manager
The business manager is in charge of managing the money that NAB uses throughout their year. This person collects national dues and acts as the treasurer for the organization. This person is selected by interview at the National Collegiate 4-H Conference.

NAB Secretary
The NAB secretary takes notes during all business meetings of NAB and keeps track of all registered clubs for the nation. This person is one of the most important members of NAB. This person is elected by interview at the National Collegiate 4-H Conference.
